Description
The vineyards from which our Pigato derives are located in the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente, in areas between 50 and 400 meters above sea level. It is suitable to accompany a wide range of typical dishes of our Liguria and in particular the dishes based on fish. To be served in a closed tulip-shaped goblet. Its name derives from the dialect transposition “pigau”, which means spotted, but some would even derive from the Latin “picatum”, the wine flavored with pitch of the Romans. In Liguria it dates back to the fifteenth century, and was introduced thanks to the flourishing trade between the ancient Maritime Republic of Noli and Greece, in particular the Thessaly.
